Do not close your secured card until you are approved for a new credit card. Once you are approved for your new credit card, call the bank that issued your secured card. Tell them that you are going to close the account unless they convert you to a secured card. It is always worthwhile trying to get the conversion, and here you will be making a threat that you will keep. Because, if they don’t convert your card, you will close it. That means you will likely end up in retention unit.

You really do get waaay more than what you pay for here! The training is invaluable, if it were free people would probably take it as a scam or something but the training is genius! What I really like about this whole set up is they are obviously training you so you'll use the software, but they don't tell you you HAVE TO use it. Information that is not yours because of confused names, addresses, etc. Credit reporting agencies may confuse names, addresses, Social Security numbers, or employers. If you have a common name—say, John Brown—your file may contain credit or personal information on other John Browns, John Brownes, or Jon Browns and may lack some of your own credit information. Your file may erroneously contain information on family members with similar names.


The Citi® Secured Mastercard® requires a $200 security deposit, which is typical of secured cards and a good amount to establish your credit line. You can deposit more money if you want to receive a higher credit line, but if you don’t have a lot of money available to deposit, coming up with $200 is manageable.
